A recent work accident claim
Our customer suffered his injury in June 2004.

He was employed as a fitter in a factory that manufactured and refurbished supermarket trolleys. On the day of the accident, he was wheeling a trolley out of the depot into the yard.

A colleague shouted at him as he had noticed a trolley falling towards our customer. The trolley fell from a height of about 30 feet hitting him directly on the head and hitting his right shoulder. The trolley knocked him to his knees and cut his head open, causing significant bleeding. He was knocked unconscious and was given first aid treatment.

He was taken to the nearby hospital where his head injury was cleaned and stitched. He suffered from a headache following the accident and was prescribed painkilling medication. Having been sent home, he was still experiencing problems, so he returned to hospital where a CT scan was undertaken.

He decided to make a work accident claim with The Claim Solicitors, and entered into a no win, no fee agreement with us in August 2004. A letter of claim was sent to his employer. In support of his claim, GP, hospital notes and x-rays were obtained.

Liability was admitted by the employer in October 2004.

After negotiations, the work accident claim was settled in the sum of £4,950 in July 2005.
