Whiplash and worse in late-night vehicle accident
Whiplash and more serious personal injury was the result of a late-night road traffic accident in Sheffield on Monday this week.
Shortly after midnight, a collision occurred in the Yorkshire city's centre when a bus was struck in the rear by a black Renault Megane, which had failed to stop for police earlier that day. The car was not being pursued at the time of the crash.
Fire crews were required to cut two of the car's occupants from the aftermath of the road traffic accident. Witnesses to the smash, or to the vehicles involved prior to the incident, are invited to call the Accident Witness Line on 0114 2202970.
The bus driver and both front-seat occupants of the Megane were taken to hospital with whiplash neck injury, but not were not detained there. The Megane's rear-seat passenger, however, was hospitalised with serious personal injury to the head.
After release from hospital, the Renault driver and his front-seat passenger were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with the intent to supply.
