Tennis star Andrew Murray told to rest for ATP Tour
Tennis star Andrew Murray has been given the go-ahead to play in an upcoming ATP tour event in
Washington after being diagnosed with a whiplash injury.
The 19-year-old from Dunblane suffered personal injuries
and damaged his shoulder and neck in a doubles defeat at Eastbourne. The neck injury
forced Murray to miss out on Great Britain's defeat to Israel at the Davis Cup.
The British number one who was initially diagnosed with a whiplash injury said on his website: "There was no significant damage to my spine, muscle or vertebrae so as of now I need a bit of rest, stretching and then I should be good to go for Washington which starts next Monday."
Murray is expected to make a full recovery from his personal injuries and has been told to rest in preparation for the ATP Tour event in Washington.
