Motorcyclist suffers personal injuries
A motorcyclist was travelling down the M11 at 60mph when she was involved in a motorcycle accident. A Suzuki Vitara driver didn't even acknowledge that she was on the road and pulled straight out into her path. The driver didn't signal and cut her up so that she had no choice but to slam on her brakes in order to avoid colliding into the back of the SUV.
She swerved and skidded on the road's damp surface and was thrown from her bike into a lay-by. A passing motorist pulled over and waited with the motorcyclist, who slipped in and out of consciousness, while the emergency service arrived.
When admitted to hospital a doctor diagnosed that she had suffered a fractured hip, a dislocated kneecap, a broken arm in two places and serious road burn to her legs. The seriousness of her personal injuries meant that she would be unable to return to work as a self-employed personal trainer for more than six months.
The prospect of having no income left the motorcyclist with little choice but to seek personal injury compensation against the careless driver of the SUV. She contacted our claim advisors to find out more about our no win no fee process and inform them of the details concerning her injury claim. Before long, a personal injury solicitor made contact with her to discuss the case and provided her with an outline of what the claims process would involve and free legal advice when she asked him questions.
It was not necessary for the case to go to court as the Suzuki Vitara driver's insurance company admitted liability for the young woman's personal injuries and made her a compensation offer. She was awarded £32,000 for her injuries and a further £9,000 to cover her estimated lost earnings. Read more about what you can claim for.
