Personal injury solicitors help widow secure compensation

A widow whose husband was killed in a plane crash has been awarded nearly £250,000 in accident compensation.

The woman decided to contact personal injury solicitors after her husband, an ex-SAS soldier, was killed whilst undergoing flying lessons in an ex-military jet in June 2002.

He was co-piloting the jet at an aerodrome in Cambridgeshire when the fatal accident occurred.

According to reports, the plane careered off the runway while landing, ploughed through a fence and then came to a halt on the M11.

Before crashing into the fence, the ex-SAS soldier ejected himself from the cockpit but before his parachute had time to open, his seat landed on the other side of the motorway.

His widow consulted personal injury solicitors and made a compensation claim against the flying instructor and the aircraft's owners.

With the help of her personal injury solicitor, she was awarded £246,000 at the High Court.
