Personal injury solicitors could help family claim compensation
A schoolboy has suffered severe burn injuries after bar staff in Turkey performed a stunt with a bottle of meths.
Brett Herbert and his family may consider speaking to personal injury solicitors following a serious holiday accident in Turkey.
The family were celebrating dad Lee's 40th Birthday by spending the day shopping in Gumbet and decided to stop for a drink before heading back to the hotel.
At the Atlantis bar, staff announced that they would perform a trick for their customers by pouring meths over the bar counter and setting it alight.
But on the second time they performed the stunt, flames were sucked back into the meths bottle, causing it to explode in Brett's face.
The 11-year-old was rushed to a hospital in Bodrum and kept on a drip for two days whilst nurses applied cream to his burn injuries and removed dead skin.
Lee said, "We were all panicking. I thought I'd put the fire out but then he burst into flames again and other people came to help me.
"He was on fire from the waist up. His skin was melting and peeling off. Eventually it took four of us to put the flames out."
Brett spent four days in hospital following the holiday accident and is now recovering back at home in Carlyle Road, Stonebroom.
In the future, Brett's family may consider contacting personal injury solicitors to make a compensation claim for their son's injuries.
