Brain damaged mother loses fight for personal injury compensation
A mother of five has lost her bid to win personal injury compensation from a
doctor who failed to spot that she was suffering from a debilitating brain
condition.
46-year-old Maria Holt, from Ashton-under-Lyne, consulted personal injury
solicitors and sued Dr Anthony Edge, claiming he was responsible for allowing
her to suffer a haemorrhage that left her disabled and requiring the use of a
wheelchair.
Dr Edge denied he was to blame for Mrs Holt's brain damage and judges at
London's High Court agreed, throwing out the compensation claim.
Angry at being refused personal injury compensation, Mrs Hope's husband told
reporters, "We will not let this rest, it is not about money."
