What is legal aid?

What are disbursements?
- Costs associated with your case
- Payments made by your solicitor to other people on your behalf
- The hourly rate that your solicitor will charge for his/her services

Disbursements are basically any costs incurred by your personal injury solicitor that are not his/her fees and which need to be paid on your behalf. These may include GP records, court fees, police accident reports and an after-the-event insurance premium.

- The charge that we will make for our services

When considering a personal injury compensation claim, your solicitor's fees are the charge that he/she will make for their hourly rate. Under the no win no fee agreement, these will not need to be paid if your case is unsuccessful. In most instances your opponent will be responsible for paying your solicitor's fees.
