Awareness campaign could reduce no win, no fee claims
A new campaign to educate young people about the potential dangers of the work place could reduce the number of no win, no fee claims made in the future.
Safe Start will be hosting a number of awareness-raising activities during the European Week for Safety and Health at Work, which runs from 23rd to the 27th of October.
In the UK alone, a young worker suffers personal injuries every 40 minutes in a work accident, which is a 50 per cent more than older employees.
Young people can be extremely vulnerable when entering employment and according to recent figures, one person is killed in a workplace accident every month.
Director of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, Hans-Horst Konkolewsky, said, "We can't just leave it until young people have already started work to teach them about health and safety. We have to reach them early while they are still at school or college so that they get used to the culture of risk prevention."
Safe Start will play an important role in raising awareness during the European Week for Safe and Health at Work and could help prevent future no win, no fee claims made by young people who have been injured in an accident at work.
