Solicitors could help worker make accident claim

A factory worker could be in a position to make an accident claim after his fingertips were severed by machinery.

Hatesh Kundalia, of Padstow Walk, Bewbush, was working at the Pasta Reale factory in Crawley when he tried to fix a jam with one of the packaging machines.

Unfortunately, when he reached his hand into the machine to try and clear any possible obstructions, it suddenly began working again and chopped off two of his fingertips.

At Mid Sussex Magistrates Court, Pasta Reale were fined £7,000 for the accident at work and ordered to pay £1,833 costs.

Representing the company, Dale Collins commented on the factory accident and said, "All employees, including Mr Kundalia, received training on these machines. A colleague of his told him not to put his hand inside.

"But this company realises the machine should have had a plastic safety guard in place at the time of the accident.

Mr Kundalia may now consider contacting personal injury solicitors to make an accident claim for his serious personal injuries.
