Worker wins compensation claim payout for shoulder injury
A work accident compensation claim has been awarded to a UK man who suffered a shoulder injury while working for a precision engineering firm.
Only months before all staff were made redundant at the company, the West Midlands employee - a caster - hurt his right shoulder, leading to him being unable to lift heavy objects.
The accident happened as he was pushing a trolley holding molten ore along a track that was incorrectly laid. As a result the trolley collided into a machine, leading to his injury.
He needed a week off work and also received physiotherapy treatment. He decided to take legal action for the accident at work because similar workplace accidents had occurred, yet nothing was fixed in spite of complaints.
Soon after lawyers were instructed, the company went into administration - but despite this, the worker has successfully been awarded a £3500 payout for his work accident compensation claim.
