Car accident compensation paid for fatal crash
A woman who caused a fatal road accident has been ordered to pay $5,000 in car accident compensation.
Julie Ann Lagergren, 35, from Tucson, Arizona, was sentenced to three years in prison and a five year probation term for causing a serious vehicle accident in August 2005.
Ms Lagergren was found guilty of drink driving and causing the crash that killed 22-year-old father-of-three, Evan Zarate.
Monica Miranda was driving the vehicle that Mr Zarate was travelling in and suffered serious personal injuries in the fatal car crash.
At Pima County Superior Court, Judge Nanette Warner ordered Ms Lagergren to pay $9,720 to the Mr Zarate's brother for damage cause to the vehicle and $5,000 in car accident compensation.
