Woman considers making whiplash compensation claim

A woman hurt in a car crash has called for better safety guidelines to be introduced on a dangerous stretch of road.

Karen McIntyre, 21, of Uddingston, Glasgow, has contacted personal injury solicitors and is considering making a whiplash compensation claim against North Lanarkshire Council following a serious road accident.

Karen lost control of her car on Rannoch Road in Tannochside and suffered whiplash and minor back injuries in the crash.

She said, "After I hit the tree I ended up in a car park full of people, including kids.

"I have been back there since and absolutely nothing has been done."

There have allegedly been nearly ten accidents in the past few years on the same stretch of road, including one car that careered through a shop window.

A council spokesperson said that no complaints have been made about the road and they have yet to receive any information about crash injuries.

"The road surface is in a wholly-acceptable condition." They said.

Karen's personal injury solicitor, Cameron Fyfe, is working on her behalf to make the whiplash compensation claim.

He said, "If it transpires that this road surface is dangerous then lives could be lost here."
