Woman's mesothelioma compensation claim successful
A woman who developed the devastating lung cancer mesothelioma from hugging her father has received news that the Ministry of Defence has accepted liability and will be awarding her damages for her compensation claim.
As previously reported on The Claim Solicitors, the personal injury compensation experts, the claimant said that she developed the disease by breathing in asbestos fibres from her father's clothes after he returned home from working at the Devonport Dockyard.
The 47-year-old, contacted personal injury solicitors and made a compensation claim for her asbestos-related disease.
The mother of three said that she was very pleased the MoD had accepted liability for her industrial disease and can now feel secure in the knowledge that her children will be provided for in the future.
She added, "This is about the issue and it's also about what I'm going to lose and no price can be put on what I'm going to lose."
A spokesperson for the MoD commented on the compensation claim and said that it "has admitted liability for the asbestos-related mesothelioma suffered by Deborah Brewer and is now endeavouring to agree as swiftly as possible a sensible settlement."
