Widow's £300,000 car crash claim
The widow of a champion cyclist who was killed in a 2005 car accident is making a personal injury claim for £300,000.
Her car accident compensation writ, which was served to the High Court of Justice, details how she has suffered severe trauma and psychological injury following her husband's death.
The writ describes how the claimant received a phone call from Accident and Emergency telling her go to the hospital as soon as possible. It also states how, on arrival, she and her parents-in-law "were taken to see the deceased, who had clearly suffered broken bones and severe injuries. He was on a ventilator."The claimant was then told that the life support must be removed and was present when this happened and when the deceased died."
The man responsible for the accident has already been sentenced to five years in prison for causing death by dangerous driving after admitting that he fell asleep at the wheel, having slept for only two and a half hours in the 24 preceding the accident.
Neither the claimant nor the personal injury solicitors representing her have spoken to the press regarding the car accident claim.
