Police car crashes with another car

An investigation is being made after a Nissan driver suffered whiplash injuries following a collision between his vehicle and a police car in Attleborough last Sunday.

The marked Norfolk Police response car was attending a 999 call when it collided with the Nissan Primera causing the police car to crash into a brick wall.

A female police officer had to be released from the police car by firefighters but received only minor injuries in the crash.

The two cars and a garden wall suffered extensive damage in the crash at the junction of Norwich Road and Mill Lane, Attleborough at about 11:30 am on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the Norfolk Police said the marked car was responding to an emergency call at the time of the incident, which was being investigated internally.

It is the second car accident involving a police vehicle in ten days. Another female police officer was taken to hospital after a crash in Sprowston on Friday March 5 while en route to an emergency call out.

It is not thought that the Nissan driver's whiplash injuries are serious.
