Fatal cable car accident claims life
North Wales Police investigating a horrific fatal cable car accident claim there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Traumatised tourists watched as the 33-year-old woman fell 100ft at the 'Queen of Welsh Resorts' in Great Orme, Llandudno, home of the longest cable car ride in the UK.
A police helicopter rushed to the scene of the tragedy bu the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A member of ambulance service personnel speaking of the accident claimed, "There was nothing anybody could do when we arrived at the scene. She was already dead."
There has only been one other fatal accident on the cable car system in more than 100 years. In 1932 a car broke free from the cable of the lower tramway, descending the steepest section of the track and hitting a wall. The accident claimed the lives of the driver and a 12-year-old girl.
