Couple suffer injuries after sports car crashes
A couple are lucky to be alive after their sports car crashed on a motorway slip road and nearly plummeted down a 30 foot drop.
The road accident occurred on Sunday at around 10.50am between the M42 and the M5 and both casualties required treatment for their car accident injuries.
It is believed the driver of the Lotus sports vehicle, a 34-year-old man, was taken to Selly Oak Hospital with facial, chest and back injuries.
The female passenger, 24, was rushed to Redditch's Alexandra Hospital and treated for an elbow injury and cuts to her face.
Paramedic Clive Shearman said, "Due to the mechanism of the crash we took no chances and removed both people onto the spinal injury board after first fitting neck collars.
"The car was a complete right off, but luck definitely shone on them - had they not stopped where they did, it might have been quite a different story."
The two traffic accident casualties are thought to be making a good recovery from their car crash injuries .
