Work injury man's home features in TV makeover
A Burnley man who was paralysed in a work accident has been surprised by a TV makeover show working their magic on his home, at his sister's invitation.
The show, ITV's 60 Minute Makeover, will air on the 8th October, and will show the team redecorating four rooms of the house, including work to ensure the building is accessible for the wheelchair that the man must use as a result of his personal injury.
The man's sister said, "We were absolutely over the moon and we can't thank the team enough. My mum couldn't believe it and nearly passed out with shock," adding that her brother "loves it as well."
His accident injury was sustained in 2007, when a bale of hay fell on him and broke his back. He was taken to hospital, where steel rods were inserted into his spine to stabilise it. He also had to have a leg amputated below the thigh as a result of the work accident.
