Sussex man reveals snow-related road traffic accident injury

A Sussex man has spoken to his local paper regarding the serious personal injury he incurred in a snow-related road traffic accident.

He has suffered whiplash neck injury, internal injuries and a broken wrist, and was knocked unconscious in the crash. Colleagues in the tipper truck that he was riding in also broke ribs and one suffered spinal injury in the collision, which occurred when the driver lost control on the slippery road surface.

The man's wife has suggested that the car crash could have been avoided, saying that the road had not been gritted in time; the council denied this. A spokesperson said, "East Sussex County Council's winter maintenance team has been ready for the cold weather since the beginning of October, when drivers and vehicles were tested along the 25 different routes which are routinely gritted.

"However, we would ask motorists to drive with reasonable care when ice or snow is present and not to assume the road is gritted."

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the road traffic accident, and no comment has been made regarding the man's intent to make a personal injury compensation claim.
