No win, no fee claims for Devon road accident casualties?

A Devon road was closed last week as a serious car accident left three vehicles damaged and their occupants with injuries, ranging from minor to serious, that could require the services of a no win, no fee solicitor.

The collision occurred as a Vauxhall Vectra collided with an articulated lorry, then into a Nissan van, on the A377 in Devon. The 60-year old Vauxhall passenger suffered serious injuries in the road accident and had to be cut from the car before being taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. The road was closed for over six hours.

The A377 has been the location of several serious road traffic accidents in 2007. These include a fatal motorcycle crash near Umberleigh, several people needing to be airlifted to hospital, and a car leaving the road near Crediton on New Year's Eve.

Although a three-vehicle accident complicates issues of liability, it is not yet known whether any of the drivers involved in the accident intend to begin a no win, no fee compensation claim against any of the others.
