Prosecution follows after teacher's death in Thailand
A teacher from Liverpool died in Phuket, Thailand, after a scooter accident which occurred when he struck an illegally-parked truck during a torrential rainstorm on the island where he was working while on a round-the-world tour.
An inquest in Liverpool was told that the 24-year-old man came round a bend on his scooter and hit the truck which had been loaded with bamboo. There was no evidence of speed or alcohol being involved in the holiday accident.
Thai police are said to be prosecuting the driver of the vehicle for causing death by illegal parking.
It is not known if the victim's family also will be pursuing a compensation claim against the driver over the scooter accident.
