Police paying for crashes
It has emerged that UK police paid out more than £3.5million in car accident compensation claims to the public in the last year alone.
The figures revealed that the public make around four car accident compensation claims against the police every day.
Yearly, the number of car accident compensation claims is up from 1,100 in 2005 to 1,400 in 2006.
In response to the police car accident compensation claim news Brake, the road safety charity, said, "Even if police are attending an incident where there is a threat to life, they could be risking lives by speeding."
