Pensioner makes claim for supermarket pineapple accident

A 76-year-old woman is hoping to receive no win, no fee compensation for head and neck injuries she sustained as a result of being hit on the head by a falling pineapple.

The no win, no fee compensation claimant had been shopping in a Tesco supermarket when the offending piece of fruit tumbled from the top shelf, hitting her in the head and causing a concussion.

"Customer safety is very important to us and we are looking into what happened. As this matter is in the hands of our legal team, we're unable to comment further," commented a Tesco spokesperson.

The personal injury solicitor representing the woman's no win, no fee compensation claim said that his client "is hoping for compensation on the basis that Tesco negligently stacked the pineapples.

"She says she is still getting headaches and neck pains and if that is the case we would be looking for several thousand pounds compensation."
