Cyclist makes compensation claim for pothole accident

A cyclist who works at the Met Office is making a personal injury compensation claim after his bike hit a pothole on the A377.

The 28-year-old required extensive surgery on the broken wrist and arm he suffered in the fall and now has a metal plate in his arm after the accident in Devon.

The cyclist had started to commute to work at Exeter following the local council's advice to reduce congestion and had managed to avoid the hole until the evening of Monday, March 19, when he was on his way to the shops.

Speaking of his ordeal the Met Office worker said, "The accident has left me with nerve damage which means I cannot feel my palm properly.

"However, it is such a busy road, I could easily have been hit by a vehicle and then it would have been much more serious."

He has now appointed a personal injury lawyer to help him gain compensation for the accident.
