Girl wins quiet claim settlement

With the help of personal injury solicitors a nine-year-old girl has won a £9,000 compensation claim from a Yorkshire hospital for their five-year failure to diagnose her with a potentially fatal intestinal condition.

There was no finding of medical negligence as the hospital agreed to settle with the girl's personal injury solicitors in an out-of-court settlement. Consequently, there was no acceptance of liability either.

After the compensation claim out-of-court settlement had been reached the girl's personal injury solicitor spoke of how just one 'simple investigation' could have diagnosed the condition much earlier.

The girl is now fully recovered.
