Deafness claim win for Sheffield man

The personal injury solicitor of a 65-year-old man from Sheffield has helped his client win his work accident compensation claim for noise-induced hearing loss.

It is believed that the personal injury solicitor managed to secure a sum totalling some £12,000.

The former furniture worker, who in his job was accustomed to using loud and heavy machinery, made his work accident compensation claim after it became clear to him that he was having difficulty following conversations and needed to wear a hearing aid.

Speaking after the industrial deafness compensation claim payout, the man's personal injury solicitor said, "This case highlights the importance of health and safety policies. Employers have a duty of care to their staff which includes ensuring full protective equipment is provided so workers exposure to risk is kept to a minimum."
