Scaffolding collapse leaves woman injured

A woman injured after a scaffolding collapse at last year's Corsley Show has made a successful personal injury claim.

The 31-year-old woman was holding her 14-month-old daughter at the time of the accident but managed to shield her from any injury.

The metal tower crushed her child's pushchair and also injured the woman's dog.

An insurance company working for the entertainment company that held the event the couple were attending sent the woman a cheque for £4,700.

However the woman believes she should have received more for her injury. Speaking of the personal injury compensation sum, the woman said, "It doesn't seem very much for the trauma we all went through at the time and afterwards."

The Health and Safety Executive were called to investigate the incident and served a prohibition order on the entertainment company for their negligence.

They have since been ordered to undergo scaffold training to ensure the same incident doesn't happen again and to avoid future personal injury claims.
