Girl dragged by bus for 500 yards
A young model may make a personal injury claim after she was dragged under a bus for 500 yards close to Whitechapel, London.
The 23-year-old, who regularly carries out promotional work, suffered punctured lungs, fractured ribs and a broken neck in the accident.
The accident occurred after the girl, who was with friends, could not get her Oyster card to work and got off the bus to buy a ticket. When she tried to get back on, the bus driver pulled away but she chased after the bus and tried to jump on when it stopped at traffic lights.
Unfortunately for the girl, the bus moved off before she could get on board and was dragged underneath the double decker for 500 yards before the driver stopped.
According to her brother, the driver of the bus ignored her friends who were screaming and hitting the emergency stop button to try to attract the driver's attention.
Police are now looking at CCTV footage of the accident last Tuesday while the girl is still recovering in hospital.
A spokesperson for the bus operator Go Ahead confirmed, "We are assisting the police investigation into the incident."
It has not yet been reported whether the girl will make a personal injury claim for the bus accident.
