Passengers evacuated from burning bus

Passenger injury claim may be made following a fire on a double-decker bus which left passengers fleeing for safety after the vehicle burst into flames on a busy road in Hampshire.

The incident happened on the A342 at Penton near Andover when the Wilts and Dorset bus set alight.

It took more than an hour for 16 fire fighters to control the flames and make the area safe.

According to Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, more than five litres of diesel fuel was spilt into nearby drains.

It was not reported if any of those travelling on the bus at the time of the incident were injured by the fire.

Passenger injury claims may be made if any personal injuries were sustained in the fire.
