Whiplash compensation claims dealt with over the phone
Insurance provider Norwich Union is introducing a new system of care to ensure that customers making whiplash compensation claims receive the best advice and treatment for their personal injury.
The company will implement a new rehabilitation service using evidence based medicine, which will give claimants in the process of making an injury claim the most effective advice and information for their whiplash injury.
Norwich Union currently handles 50,000 whiplash claims a year, which account for nearly 80% of the provider's total amount of injury compensation claims.
People suffering from neck injuries, possibly caused in a vehicle accident, will be able to speak to a clinically trained person over the telephone, who will advise them on the best methods for their road to recovery.
The new protocol could reduce the number of people receiving hands on treatment, with 40% of claimants believed to make a full recovery from their personal injuries over the phone.
The new model of care will be used on all whiplash compensation claims and has been implemented in conjunction with partners IPRS, Rehabworks and Rehabilitation UK.
