Council workers made to wait for compensation

Nearly 1,000 workers from Glasgow Council are due to pick up between £1,000 and £15,000 in no win no fee compensation claim payouts this June.

The no win no fee compensation claim payouts form a package that will give women equal pay catch up payments, to put them on a par with the salaries of male council workers.

The workers, mostly nursery helpers and school dinner ladies, claimed that they had previously been pressured into accepting a deal which was worth less than what they were entitled to.

But with the help of the organisation who are representing them, Action4Equality, who pursued their claims on a no win no fee basis, the Scottish women are set to finally claim the compensation payouts they have sought for so long.
