No win no fee boss puts house on the market
The man responsible for firing 2,700 members of staff by text message after the collapse of his no win no fee legal firm has put his mansion on the market for £3.75 million.
Multi-millionaire Mark Langford, 42, angered many employees at The Accident Group (TAG) in 2003 after sending a text message to their mobiles saying that they would no longer be working for the personal injury company.
Following the £100 million collapse of the no win no fee firm, Mr Langford and his wife retreated to Spain and liquidators have since been trying to discover where money owed to the company's creditors has disappeared to.
Earlier this year, liquidators were granted the right to freeze Langford's assets but fortunately for him, they will not to have any control over the profits made from the sale of his house in North Rode, Cheshire, because TAG was a limited company.
The no win no fee tycoon who headed the Manchester injury claim firm is currently contesting an action by the Department of Trade and Industry to disqualify him from holding the company directorships.
