Motorists could make whiplash compensation claim for crash
Motorists involved in a five car shunt near Blackpool could be considering making a whiplash compensation claim for their personal injuries.
The road accident occurred earlier this month around 5.30pm outside Penny Farm at Peel and caused major tailbacks after police closed Preston New Road for four hours.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the car crash and paramedics treated drivers and passengers for minor injuries.
A police helicopter searched the surrounding area after it was discovered that one of the drivers had run away from the accident, leaving his passenger inside the vehicle.
One driver was taken to hospital after suffering a shoulder injury in the crash and several other people were also taken to hospital to be treated for minor personal injuries.
In the future, motorists involved in the crash may consider claiming for whiplash compensation following the motor accident.
Police are currently carrying out an investigation into the crash and are trying to locate the missing driver.
