Liability established but sum unsettled
Motorbike accident compensation is being sought by a 44-year-old rider from Hampshire who lost his leg as a result of a traumatic crash between his Honda motorcycle and a BMW car.
A no-win, no-fee solicitor representing the claimant, a motorcycle engineer by profession, alleges that the injuries he sustained in the incident have left him "overwhelmingly disadvantaged on the open labour market".
A personal injury claim writ submitted by the claimant and his legal team says that he is seeking unlimited damages for the crash.
The BMW driver's insurer has already admitted liability for the motorbike accident compensation claim. However, the two sides to the claim are, so far, unable to agree on a sum of damages.
In addition to the severe leg injury, the 44-year-old also suffered swelling to the brain as a result of a head injury sustained in the crash.
The writ further states that the claimant "remains dependent on others for activities of daily living and will need suitably adapted cars as well as specialised home equipment."
The defendant driver has already been convicted of driving offences related to the motorbike accident compensation claim.
