Step-mum sues over son's motorcycle accident

A woman from Greater London has launched a six figure compensation claim after her step-son was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident.

The twelve-year-old was riding pillion on his father's Honda Firestorm in June 2010 when the motorcycle crashed into a Ford Fiesta.

The boy was taken first to the Royal London Hospital and later transferred to the paediatric intensive care unit at King's College Hospital, where he was treated for head injuries.

After a month's recovery, doctors considered him well enough to return home. But his family say the boy still suffers from cognitive and behavioural difficulties brought on by the motorbike accident.

Now his step-mother is suing the driver of the Ford for motorcycle accident compensation valued at a minimum of £300,000.

Her compensation solicitors say the driver failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to give way and drove into the victim's path, causing the motorcycle accident.
