Mother makes compensation claim for dangerous dog
A young girl from Birmingham has been awarded £1,000 after being savagely attacked by a pit bull terrier as she walked home from nursery school.
Savannah Whyte's mum contacted personal injury solicitors and made a compensation claim on behalf of her daughter after she suffered severe dog bite injuries in a frenzied attack.
Evet Robinson, of Benmore Avenue, Edgbaston, was walking from the Lillian De Lissa Nursery School with her five children when the dog pounced on her daughter.
She said, "It came from nowhere and kept going and going and barking and growling.
"It jumped on her face and wouldn't let go even though we were hitting it with an umbrella and our fists. It must have had a real taste for blood.
"I wanted to kill it myself after what it did and I think it is an insult to value Savannah's life at £1,000 - she can't walk down the street without being scared of a dog."
Mrs Robinson contacted a personal injury solicitor and made a compensation claim on behalf of her young daughter.
She added, "She was so brave and deserves to spend the money as she wants- I'm not going to touch a penny."
