Personal injury solicitors help secure injury compensation
A mother whose son was born with severe brain injuries after doctors allegedly refused to perform a caesarean has been awarded compensation with the help of personal injury solicitors.
The boy's mother has welcomed the news that Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust will be awarding medical negligence compensation, which will pay for her son's future care.
She made an accident claim after asking doctors to perform a caesarean for the birth of her fourth son, however, a caesarean was refused in the belief that a scar on her uterus could rupture.
After a labour was induced the scar burst and her son suffered serious brain damage.
Following the news that the Trust will pay clinical negligence compensation she said, "We are very happy it has been accepted and that we are going to get compensation.
"This means we can get on with our lives as normally as possible now and put is all behind us."
With the help of personal injury solicitors, the mother is expecting to receive the first compensation payment in 18 months time.
She added, "It will enable him to obtain the level of care he needs and to purchase the equipment and support to enable him to reach his full potential."
