Medical negligence claim news

Another drug trial goes wrong
The pharmaceutical company that was at the centre of the infamous "elephant man" drug trials in 2006 has found itself in hot water again, and potentially facing more medical negligence claims, after a new London-based trial ended with problems.
While participating in trials for the new anti-addiction drug Nalmefene, two young men had to be rushed to hospital, one having developed a stomach ulcer, and the other pancreatitis. The pharmaceutical company have already admitted that their symptoms may well be attributable to side effects of the drug, making further XX1XXs a real possibility.
Personal injury solicitors representing the XX1XXs of the six men injured in the 2006 trial expressed anger at the news, saying that the company "has never apologised or accepted liability, although the case against it in terms of negligence is overwhelming".
"It's appalling that despite this the US company can come over here to use our people in this way. Until they publicise the fact they have learned lessons, serious questions hang over whether they are fit to operate."
