Man seriously injured by machinery
A man in his 60s was seriously injured in a work accident at an industrial unit at Bourn Airfield, Cambridgeshire.
The industrial accident took place at around 8.20pm when the man suffered a personal injury caused by a piece of machinery he was operating.
The Cambridgeshire police helicopter was used to transport a team of emergency medical staff to the scene of the incident.
The injured man was then taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by ambulance and was said to be in a stable condition.
A Health and Safety Executive investigation is likely to be carried out to examine the cause of the accident and to determine if the man's employers were at fault for his work accident.
