Man receives road accident compensation for crash

A man who was left brain damaged after being knocked down by a car in 2001 has finally been awarded road accident compensation.

Richard Puksis, 41, of Loudwater, was crossing Church Road in Penn in May 2001 when he was hit by a passing Volvo.

He sustained serious personal injuries in the collision and is currently undergoing neurological rehabilitation at St Andrews Hospital in Northampton.

The compensation claim was made through his mother Kathleen, who will use the money to pay for her son's care, rehabilitation, future accommodation and expenses already paid out for his treatment.

At the High Court in London on the 16th October, Mr Puksis was awarded an undisclosed sum of road accident compensation for his injury claim.
