Accident compensation claim made for beanstalk fall

One of the Krankies has made an accident compensation claim after falling 10ft from a beanstalk.

Janette Tough, the Scottish entertainer known for playing Wee Jimmy Krankie, suffered serious personal injuries during a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk at the Glasgow Pavilion Theatre in 2004.

She suffered a serious head injury when she fell 10ft from the beanstalk and was rushed to hospital with a fractured skull.

Her husband, Ian, who plays the other half of the Krankies duo, escaped the accident without suffering any personal injuries.

Since the near fatal accident, the theatre has made a successful compensation claim against the supplier of the Ribbonlift beanstalk, Steeldeck Ltd, and was recently awarded a six-figure accident compensation claim for the incident.

Pavilion manager Ian Gordon said, "The fact that they have settled with this substantial sum so quickly speaks volumes.

"It was a difficult period for all concerned and we have now taken a significant step forward to putting it all behind us."

Mrs Tough's accident compensation claim is still ongoing.
