Hotel bed rat bite claim is settled

No-win no-fee solicitors this week secured holiday injury compensation for an Irish woman who woke in a Tunisian hotel to find a rat biting her face.

The holiday injury compensation claimant had been enjoying a seven-day break in Tunisia with her daughter, when she woke, screaming, because of the pain of the bite. Her daughter then tried to reassure her, telling her she must have been having a nightmare; however, shortly afterwards the daughter saw the rat scrambling around on her mother's bed and also screamed out.

The 57-year-old immediately sought medical assistance for her animal bite injuries and also received further treatment when she returned home.

Holiday injury compensation was awarded to the Dublin woman during a Circuit Civil Court hearing, with the Tunisian holiday tour operator admitting liability.
