Footballer considers no win, no fee claim for injury
A Bournemouth footballer is considering making a no win, no fee compensation claim after part of his nose was bitten off during a game.
The 34-year-old was playing in a Hampshire Cup away fixture when the incident is said to have occurred.
Commenting on the injury, he said: "I could see a big flap of skin hanging over my face. It wasn't sore at the time and I was very numb."
Working as a painter and decorator, the man said that he would be unable to return to work looking like he does.
He added: "I've had a tetanus injection and I'm on painkillers. The chances are that I'll be scarred for life. The timing is terrible. I'm planning to get married next July."
A witness commented on the incident and said: "We were utterly shocked. Rugby is a very physical game but you don't expect that sort of thing during a football match."
The footballer has been in touch with personal injury solicitors and is considering making a no win, no fee claim.
