Solicitors called in over horse bite injuries
A Hong Kong woman is preparing to make a personal injury claim for horse bite injuries she suffered to her arm while visiting a riding school in October 2007.
According to the personal injury claim writ served by the woman's accident compensation lawyers she is now "embarrassed to wear upper garments exposing her scarred upper right arm and confines herself to wearing long-sleeved upper garments to hide her disfigurement."
The horse bite, suffered when a horse leant out of a stall and bit the woman, left the claimant in hospital for three days. She is claiming a portion of compensation for the cost of reconstructive cosmetic surgery and another for other damages, including loss of earnings.
Her personal injury claim writ also accuses the riding club of negligence over its failure to provide a guardrail, something which her solicitors believe would have prevented the accident.
As the legal system in the former UK protectorate forbids the use of no win, no fee solicitors, the claimant has been denied the option of making her compensation claim on a no win, no fee basis.
