Personal injury solicitor helps Colin Hendry's wife

Former Blackpool FC manager Colin Hendry has been supporting his wife in making a compensation claim for botched cosmetic surgery.

Denise Hendry contacted a personal injury solicitor after going under the surgeon's knife in April 2002 for a liposuction procedure.

The 40-year-old was left with serious personal injuries after Surgeon Gustaf Aniansson punctured her bowel and small colon nine times during the procedure at Broughton Park Hospital in Preston.

Denise was just one of four women to make an official complaint of medical negligence against the surgeon for botched cosmetic surgery.

With the help of her personal injury solicitor, Stephen Jones, Denise has been awarded a six figure compensation settlement for her injury claim.

Mr Jones said, "Whilst no amount of money could compensate Denise properly for what she has been through I am delighted we have been able to obtain such a good settlement."

Following the medical negligence, surgeon Gustaf Aniansson has asked for his name to be removed from the General Medical Council register.
