Asbestos claims reaching high-water
The borough of Crewe and Nantwich is reaching a peak in the number of asbestos compensation claims made by its residents.
Health and Safety Executive statistics show that the borough has the highest rate of asbestos-related deaths in Cheshire. Anecdotal evidence of the rates of asbestos compensation claims in the area reflects this.
A spokesperson from one of the companies who have recently been the subject of asbestos compensation claims said, "Since the dangers of asbestos have been known we have introduced high levels of containment. and it is no longer a problem for our employees."
The organisation Cheshire Victims Asbestos Support Group may be of help to anyone from the area wishing to make an asbestos compensation claim.
