Cancer misdiagnosis girl hopes to get on with life

A Hull teenager who is making a clinical negligence claim for cancer misdiagnosis received good news when she was told treatment on a football-sized tumour has been successful.

The 16-year-old girl commented, "I was so relieved to be told I could come off the chemotherapy.

"It's been a hard few months. Losing my hair was the worst - I lost a lot of confidence.

"But now its started growing back I feel much happier. I've got my school prom in a few weeks which I'm really looking forward to."

She is making her clinical negligence claim with the assistance of experienced UK medical negligence solicitors after a period of two and a half years four doctors failed to spot her cancer.

Had it not been for the persistence of the girl's father in organising a scan on her cancerous ovaries, she may well not have survived.

The medical negligence solicitors representing the teenager's clinical negligence claim argue that her outlook was made worse when, prior to surgery, the cyst ruptured, causing cancerous cells to be released into her body.
