Untidy vehicles might lead to car crash claims
A leading UK car insurance comparison expert has discovered through research that one fifth of drivers suffer road traffic accidents due to cluttered vehicles, which sometimes leads to a car crash claim being made.
Eight percent of British people admitted to never having cleaned their car inside at all, and this is a concern because having loose items in a vehicle while on the road can be very dangerous and may cause personal injury.
A spokesperson for the comparison firm stated, "Untidy cars are literally littered with potential dangers on the road. Empty cans risk becoming lodged under drivers' control pedals and crisp packets blowing around in a moving vehicle can distract a driver's attention."
Not only are the owners of messy cars more likely to become involved in accidents, but untidy vehicles mean that the number of crashes overall in the UK increase which has consequences for the cost of insurance for drivers too.
If a motorist is involved in an accident which occurred because of loose objects in their vehicle, they could be found liable for the incident and any victims of the collision might choose to make car crash claims against the driver responsible.
