Accountant angry over whiplash treatment
A Canadian man who suffered a whiplash injury in a minor car accident has hit back at the GP who told him to 'get over it and get on with life'.
The 45-year-old was returning home from work at his accountancy firm in Toronto when his Mercedes sedan was hit side-on by a refuse truck. The impact of the road accident is believed to have caused his whiplash injury.
After several visits to his doctor where he struggled to get him to suggest any treatment, he then contacted a whiplash specialist who also advised him he might be able to make a whiplash injury claim.
"I don't feel that my doctor was in any way sympathetic or willing to listen," the man said.
"He had his own ideas about how bad my neck injury was. Only when I got in touch with a chiropractor did I understand that my kind of whiplash injury is actually taken seriously. Before then, I didn't even know I could make a compensation claim for this kind of injury."
